Match comments
2nd XI: The seconds finished the season with a close win by the odd goal in five, this after falling behind in the first minute.
Wizards: The Wizards completed the season with win number 13. Psycho took his club total into 3 figures with his first goal to join the ‘hundred club’.
Warriors: The Warriors were saved from going 2-0 down in their final league game by an incredible head high stick save on the line by TC (Senior). Shep was probably the unluckiest man on the field. On another day he could have score 5, 6 or even 7 from his shorts. He came up against a keeper in incredible form. Same Parker scored a late equaliser. The Warrior’s disappointing 5 game run without a win meant they finished in mid table taking only 2 points from their final 12.

Match comments
Comment: Swindon ones and threes cried off, perhaps they don’t like driving down the M4! The seconds and Wanderers made the journey in the opposite direction.
2nd XI: The twos lost 2-1, Duncan’s text message said that the scorer was Griffin. The Wanderers were also away at Swindon and the text message said Griffin 3, so I presume that our club captain performed again getting a first ever hat-trick.
Wizards: The Wizards welcomed Silo back to the fold and he responded with two goals. That makes it 12 straight wins, and they remain unbeaten over 17 games. The last time they lost was on 15th November at Lansdown.
Warriors: The Warriors travelled to Cardiff. For the second week in a row they conceded goals in the opening minutes of each half. The team put up a spirited display and scored with a short corner at the end of full time to make the score 3-2. Brian Nichols and Tim Palmer gave solid performances in defence and Sam Parker looked back to his early season form. Limbo’s running caused the main threat up front. Paul Pritchard had to Don the pads and made a couple of good saves against a lively Cardiff side. The penalty stroke that should have been awarded to us might have made it an even closer finish!

Match comments

Wanderers: The Wanderers won against Chippenham 5 - 1. Tufty acknowledged full credit to Chippenham for their part in an excellent and good spirited game, he also took his season’s total to 30.

Wizards: Psycho reported that theWizards won 6 - 2 away at Stroud. He notes “I got 3 (1 x PF), Lutwych, not sure who else, still a bit dazed from Friday night!! I thought it was 5 - 2 but 6 - 2 was on the board in the Duck.” Duncan confirmed that 6 goals had been scored.
Warriors: The Warriors put up a good performance in the league match at Leominster. They conceded a goal after 2 minutes but equalised before half-time. They then conceded one minute into the second half. The experience of the Leominster first team player was the key to their victory. We pressured them and James Lampey caused the type of problems to their defence that we have been missing for several weeks. Brian Nichols (suffering from a throat infection) earned the man-of-the-match award.
Widgets: George writes The Colts (mainly 12-15 year olds with a few old guys to make up the numbers) drew 1-1 with North Somerset (all 15-17 year olds). Nichols G. the scorer, with young Webster having a potentially winning goal disallowed on the final whistle. Enjoyable game, very good performances by the younger players, many playing their first 11 a side game on a full size pitch.
